Yes, the K&N mentioned probably is the drop in filter. They do however have cone filters available for the X. Most cotton gauze filter's should work about the same. If you want a more pronounced and louder sound, get rid of the box and put in place of it a cone filter. I'm sure you'll get what you're looking for.

Ok so I also am a noob and was thinking about a BOV... I wanna know how it sounds with the cone or K&N filter... Does it sound like a recirc BOV? (which is less louder than a vta BOV)
