Evo X to FQ400 conversion in the UAE

Extracted from http://www.alhabtoor-motors.com/ralliart/parts.htm

Ralliart UAE, part of the Al Habtoor Motors Group, is very pleased to announce that they can supply and fit all the parts to the Lancer Evolution X, to mirror what Mitsubishi UK call the ‘FQ400’.

A team of engineers from the UK
and NZ have over the last 10 months developed, tested, and signed off the final product which is being badged and sold as the Evo X FQ400 in the UK. As of July 1st 2009, the UK Ralliart dealer network will be offering the car for sale at £50,000/299,000AED.

Al Habtoor has been appointed one of the dealers around the World that can supply and fit the kit to your brand new or current Evo X. The complete kit is 105,000/- AED which added to a new 5 speed GSR from Al Habtoor at 144,900 AED equals 249,900 AED, but can be purchased separately in 3 packs as follows:

The body kit consists of completely different aero front bumper and carbon lower lip, aero bonnet with larger exit and duct vents, wider aero side skits, a rear bumper with a carbon diffuser and choice of exhaust exits. Finally a carbon roof vortex generator and carbon gurney lip for the original rear boot spoiler. Supplied, sprayed and fitted at the Al Habtoor body shop is 41,700 AED for the complete body kit.

To obtain the 403bhp and colossal 525nm of torque ,and the 0-100Kms in 3.8 seconds ,the following modifications and parts are required in the engine(and brake upgrade) kit.

An ECU re-flash with ECU-TEK software map.
Full 2.5” or 3” sports exhaust and catalytic converter with a choice of twin or centre exit
Alloy /silicone intercooler pipe kit
Alloy/silicone air-box to turbo inlet pipe kit
Heavily modified original turbo (exchange)
Injectors
Modified injector wiring loom
365mm 6 pot Alcon front brake kit
Carbon & alloy gear knob and handbrake lever Al Habtoor can supply and fit this kit for 51,690 AED

To widen the track of the car, there is a different design wheel fitted. It is a speedline 9x18” with an offset of ET20 which is 18mm more track than the original Enkei or BBS .The 18” Speedline wheels are shod with a Toyo Proxes R1R tyre. After numerous tyre tests in the UK, the engineers found this tyre to suit this 400 bhp tuned Evo perfectly. The tread is a semi slick design so will be perfect for the UAE weather also.

Finally to set the Evo X lower to the asphalt, a set of FR-30mm and RR-25mm progressive rate lowering springs are fitted. For this final package including fitting and tracking
14,520 AED

68k, it's worth every bit of that amount when a Skyline who just barley out performs the FQ was being sold for 90k when it first came out! Given the right driver the FQ should beat a Nissan Skyline, I can't wait for the top gear episode.

I couldn't agree more, being at 500 HP/440 Torque at the crank I'm perfectly fine with spending a fraction of that cost and getting better performance. I think I am around 40k with all the upgrades so far. Now granted the cosmetic alterations are nice to have but aren't required in my mind.

Does this thing have the Vortex Generator? Is it functional like in the VIII/IX? I just wonder since the Evo X engineers did not introduce one from factory, so perhaps its just bling-blang this time around.

Agreed. We can get this power level pretty easy and reliably without spending much. Same goes for suspension, wheels, brakes. The exterior kit is nice, but not necessarily needed.

That's the most appealing exterior part to me as well. Would be unique to have the only center-exit-exhaust Evo Xs in the US

The kit has lowering springs. OEM struts (I believe it gets the MR Bilsteins).
