Where should I start?
Well since I'm about to receive my Evo back, and I'm looking at slightly modding the car. Things such as Air Intake and a few others... Wondering where I should start?

Start with simple things like air intake element (known as a drop-in filter), turbo-back exhaust, and a tune.

The "modding for dummies" thread says that the upper intercooler piping provides no gains and conversly the lower intercooler piping does..that relates more to Evo VIII's and IX's.
+1...if you want a little more power then add in an electronic boost controller (they work better on evo x's than mbc's), intake, and upper intercooler piping. You should def notice a significant increase in power and it should be fairly safe for DD.

I have heard that Evo X's tend to have less problems holding boost in the higher RPM range with EBC's vs. MBC's. While both solve the boost taper problem, MBC's usually aren't as consistent at holding boost in the higher RPM's. Can I quantify this into numbers such as being dyno proven? No, but I have had friends with X's replace their hallman's or forge MBC's for an EBC and now swear by them. I had a forge MBC on my old VIII, but for my X I like the option of being able to change boost levels without having to pull over and pop my hood, hence that's why I decided to go with an EBC...just preference I guess.
I've read a lot of issues about people using MBCs... AFAIK, the X's ECU is well capable of handling boost at whatever target level you want if you are using the stock turbo... it just needs a tuner to dial it in for you.
It all depends on your budget... If I had the money and didn't have any reputable professional tuners in my area, I'd get this package:
http://www.perrinperformance.com/pro...ry=62&model=26
They have an 18% off coupon right now for the whole package and it's all plug-n-play. If you don't know how to work on cars (like I do), you can have an exhaust shop install the turboback exhaust. Panel filter is an easy DIY.
If you have access to a good tuner, I'd buy the following from vendors on this forum:
3" CBE = $500-$700 or you could go full TBE which should be around $400 more?
Injen Intake+UICP combo = $ 400
Professional tune = $ 400
