A few people have said that there were too many negative threads on the X, so I thought I would have an open poll to vote how you feel about your X.
Please only vote if you own or recently owned an Evo X.
Feel free to post up and explain why you voted the way you did.

I voted 'Good'. I'm very, very satisfied with the overall package but couldn't give it an 'Excellent' because of the soft, water based paint. I know it's a problem on most cars manufactured in Japan these days but to me it's not acceptable even on a $10K car.
I voted excellent. The 24th of October will mark the 1 year anniversary for me. I have had no real problems with my Evo X. Perhaps where you live can effect your thoughts on the paint. I have very little to no chips on the front end of my vehicle or anywhere else for that matter. The recalls that have effected the X are no more or less than any first year production vehicle. All recalls have been accomplished satisfactorily by the dealership. The only negative that I can think of is the lack of a 6th gear to improve fuel economy and reduce cabin noise at higher cruising speeds.
Even with all the "small" negatives...the performance and fun factor of the car far outweighs any small niggles I'll have about this car.
First, I purchased the car knowing it was a Mitsubishi, so small problems with fit and finish, I expected it.
Second, it's an Evo! What other car will you find with all the trick parts for around what this car cost?
I gave it an "excellent" rating. For all the whiners complaining about "lack of luxury", plastic interior, paint, etc etc...It's an Evo, folks! No compromises with this car...you love it or you hate it.
24,3xx miles on the odometer. I've had this car for 1 year and 8 months...mind you, I take prestine care of my cars. So far so good the car's been running like a champ. It truly is dependable and reliable given what this car is.

I was a tech at a ford dealership for several years and even the lowest of ford model cars, the focus, had better interior finish than the evo. That was 10k car too!
But you said it right, the fun factor of this car is a definate

I'm sorry I have to disagree. They stuck me in a Ford Focus on a recent business trip. Fit and finish better than an Evolution X? Today has been very amusing but that statement is incredibly comical. The fit and finish on the Evolution X is NOT inferior to that of a Ford Focus.
i vote for good.
The reason is a following.
To make it run right you need to rewrite the ECU./i'm talking about bone stock car/
MAF sensor failed on me twice already.
Excellent car do not require retune. It should come out from the factory with an expectational tune . MAF sensor bugs me , since faild on me just before the hot laps in TT.
Also the side skirt is not too solid on the car just as a front rubber lip./other people issues, i had no problem with them/
Other wise i have no issue with the car. Not even rattling, i cant hear those anymore

I voted Good, because execpt small recall issues(fuel return pipe and hood latch), my evo x did not seem to give me any trouble and my evo 8 too. I like the drivabilty for DD and occasional WOT. But again, I drive like a grandma so...I dont use my car to its full potential. I usually get 32-36k outta stock brake pads and 20k miles on stock Advan lol.
It seems that our evo DOES needs lots of attention compared to other cars. Well..still I would get evo xi again in the future IF it does not gain anymore weight.

ECU needs a little more attention, clutch release is a little high from the factory, paint is weak and hard to maintain, transmission can act a little funky but that's simply a "Mitsubishi thing" and my passenger side aero kit took some pushing to be properly taken care of. Overall for the first year I voted good, excellent would be hard to achieve in any make or model.
I voted excellent. I owned audi TT, civic si, rx 300 and evo x. I think evo x has the best fun-factor, however it is not comparable to toyota, honda quality. Don't even mention German technology, wait, TT has no technology at all lol. Civic Si has the best bang for the buck interrior and fun, very good seats and decent interior, I got it for 21000 brand new. It was an awesome experience screaming with the vtec, but the torque at low rpm was a big turn off. 29.99 oil change was awesome too. My audi TT was a solid and mild fun car. It wasn't too fast, but I got APR chip and some mild mod on it with around 200 whp/torque. The fit and finish was awesome for a car that first introduced in 1998, and little change was made on my 2003. However, it was not too reliable; this and that breaks all the time and I had 35000 miles on it in 6 years. Evo x I had it for 6 months and only the recall jobs were done. I had no chips on the paint, but I realized how thin the paint was after I had a parkinglot accident a few weeks ago; the paint was so thin that my wife, who drives a dodge caliber, made fun of it. A 40k car (msrp ) with the finish and reliability of a 20k car, and it is an evo. I voted excellent because it was my dream car and I finally owned one, but it will be my last mitsubishi ever. Probably new M5 next after my payments are done.
In addition, I had horrible experience with mitsubishi dealers; everything I mentioned voids the warranty. I am too scared to do anything with it except an AP. The service department of local mitsubishi dealers are always so tiny. Comparing to the lexus/audi where I am always to get complimentary stuff + clean and wide shops. The core product, which is the quality of the car, is very important, but the supportive service of mitsubishi is beyond disatisfication.
