Why do you say make sure to get a tune, for more power or bc there is a problem with the stock tune.
The stock evo x tune is pig rich. It averages at about 9.5. It is horrible. This is why tuners are getting 70-80whp from just a tune! Personally I recommend getting a tune. Changes the car completely. Leave everything else stock if you want.

Stock tune on the X is really rich and under-powered. If not a custom tune atleast get yourself a cobb AP.

Exactly. The stock tune is well known for being way too rich and causes a lot of knock at or above 6000rpm. The first time you go WOT to redline you will feel it hesitate a lot.

I would ask your local dealer how they feel about the tune because many will be completely honest about it as it does affect their limitations as well. My local dealer is very understanding with modifications and know what kinds of mods will affect certain parts. I was unbelievably happy with my X when it was bone stock plus a tune. I'm sure you would be too!

My buddy has a 04 Cobra and I can't wait to see it!

Good job with your purchase. I got my X from Bell over the summer. Very good dealership. I went for service a couple of weeks ago and saw those new 2010's, 3 white ones. Glad to see you jumped in one. Let me know if Bell has no problem with tunes...mine is completely stock but i want a tune soooooooooo bad.

Congrats on the purchase. I've seen you on svtperformance, can't believe you sold the cobra! I miss mine everyday, but hope to get another after college.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2008 Mazda Speed 3
2003 Mustang Mach 1
2003 Mini Cooper S
2003 Mustang Cobra

Out of all those cars the mini was the most fun and the Cobra had a good amount of power (508rwhp and 532rwtq straight 93 pump). I was never a big 1/4 guy, but more of a handling guy. I had the mini on a few track days

I took the plunge yesterday and went to Bell Mitsubishi in Rahway NJ. Got the deal I wanted and left with a 2010 Wicked White EVO X SSS with 3 miles on the odometer.

This is going to be my DD. I regret selling my IX but I also regret not driving the car in two years I sold it with 6,000 miles.

I plan to do 20% window tint, swift springs and wheels. Then I am just going to enjoy the car for what it is.

BTW: If anyone is looking for an honest dealership in NJ Bell Mitsubishi did me right. I have bought a lot of cars, EVO X being 15! Honest group of guys and lay everything on the table, no games no BS. I went to Buhler Mitsubishi in Eatontown NJ where I know the owner figuring I would get a good deal. I was told that the EVO X is too hot of a car and they are getting $4k over sticker. I laughed and walked out. Next I went to Allstar Mistbishi and was told the same BS story. They told me that they would sell me the car for Sticker price of $36,780. I said no and walked out. Bell gave me the deal I wanted and threw in a set of Mudguards at no cost to me and the first 2 oil changes free. They also have the largest EVO inventory with about 9 EVO X (well make that 8 now). I in no way work for them nor am I affiliated with them, just letting the NJ guys know my experience and maybe save them some time and BS.
it the new 2010 a GSR or MR?
if it's an MR why are you going to change your wheels?
even gsr's have good wheels, MR's are superb.
if you change your springs you are modding your suspension. waranty wise isn't too smart.

Hey can you give any details about the deal you got? I'm actually looking to get a '10 X in the next couple of weeks and have had bad luck with Bell in the past. I noticed they had a bunch of '10s sitting outside when I drove past the dealership about 2 weeks ago. I'm actually looking for a GSR.
If you feel more comfortable PMing me, that's fine.
