Crazy Vibration and Noise

So yesterday I installed AMS FMIC, and ams 02 downpipe, ams testpipe, Today I went for a short drive to test everything out and everything was great untill I pulled up to a light...

I was idling in neutral and all of the sudden my whole floor started vibrating, and there was this annoying noice like something (exhaust?) was rubbing on something else (Driveshafts)?

It almost sounded and felt as if the car was stalling out, but again I was in neutral, and my rps were not moving, so I'm 98% sure this has nothing to do with the engine.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Check the test pipe and make sure it's not hitting the drive shaft or tunnel. We have seen this with a few companies products that use straight test pipes on the X.

If we can be of any help, let us know!

I'm going to go out and lift it up right now and take a look. I have your catback alongside the AMS testpipe and AMS 02 DP, they told me it would fit fine, so I hope they were right and stuff isnt rubbing.

Clueless

Everything looks clear, There are no rub marks on the driveshaft or supports, there is decent clearing between the entire exhaust and any components, and everything is torque'd down like no tomorrow, so it cant possibly be vibrating, I also installed shifter bushings but unless I'm mechanically inept, this could have nothing to do with the loud noise I was hearing and the vibrations I was feeling.

After I installed my AMS downpipe, I had a vibration from the downpipe against the small heat shield on the steering rack at certain revs. I fixed it from underneath by inserting a long bar between the downpipe and shield and carefully bending the shield, probably less than a 1/4 inch. You have to be real careful because you can damage the fluid lines protected by that shield. Might or might not be the problem you are having.

downpipe against the cross-brace. its a kind of metallic rattle.
MIne would only rattle after a rain for whatever strange reason.
Check clearance between your new downpipe and the cross-braces.
Then check clearance to the oilpan.
Solve problems with a hammer, live life in peace.

Start it and get it to make that noise then lift it up and take a look.

Then start at one end and check the whole system. Anyplace where you have the exhaust within 1/2 inch or less of something else is potentially suspect. When the exhaust heats up it expands and in different ways at bends, obstructions and closer to the downpipe. The stock hangers are pretty soft, you can substitute some of them with poly or harder rubber hangers. You might have to get longer or shorter hangers to push or pull the exhaust depending on clearance. I too have a mixed system of AMS downpipe, Cobb HFC and Magnaflow catback, but don't have that problem.

try to reproduce the noise/vibration and then check around to see what's rubbing or interfering, hope you get it resolved

I have an AMS Downpipe combo and the stupid 02 sensor hits the heat shield and pisses me off like crazy.
