At my work, We use those on all of our fleet trucks, and all of the employees on their own cars (except me cus of the oil temp sensor on mine) They work great and dont leak at all.

I have one with an optional spring clip which makes it pretty much impossible for the valve to open on its own without the clip failing also.

ditto, had one on my STi for 2 years with no problems whatsoever. Really quick and makes draining the oil more cake than it is already.

plus you can upgrade the crush washer to a reusable hard washer.

do you realize that a hard washer will NOT do the job of a crush washer...that i mean is seal the plug from leaking!!!

I too would worry about the car running out of oil because it came open with my knowing. I will just take the time to pull the bolt and replace it.

i also realize you're ignorant. go ahead, try it. you haven't? oh okay, then read up on "solid gaskets," because apparently you don't have a clue what it is.

LOL. I agree about not introducing another potential point of failure. Plus, the oil gushes out in a steady stream when you pull the drain bolt...not sure if using the valve could leave more sediment at the bottom of the oil pan that might normally get flushed out a little better.

bought some stuff from my local mitsu dealer and got 5 free crush washers. free wins.

but i wouldn't be worried about something hitting it and banging it open accidentally causing an oil spill, there's the plastic cover in place which sort of prevents most of that. you'd have to hit something really bad to do any damage and by then you might've broken something worse than that ie: oil pan.

Wow some dealers charge for crush washers? Heck last time I asked for 2 washers the guy gave me like 20. And they charge $4.61 for an oem filter.
