Including Mileage Information when swapping tips

So what's the norm for people sharing their mileage on their engines and systems when comparing notes and talking about common problems?

I ask cause I know common symptoms may look like common problems but driving and maint histories with a cars mileage make all the difference in helping figure out 'What's wrong now?' stuff.

I haven't seen this habit anywhere yet on the posts, so just wondering if this is taboo.

yeah, I got my X about 8 months after early adopters and they were all crying about the rear bumper paint wrinkling at the corner...I was like ha, mine's fine, but now that I have 18 months and 17k miles on mine, it now has the same flaw.

Not that I'm going to do anything about it..it doesn't bother me because my rockers are chipped real bad, what's another little thing like that.

my mass airflow died at 12k miles...other than that, the only clockwork consumption would be tire wear at every 10-12k miles.

I got mine in June 2008, early-med adopter. No rear paint issues other than a nasty gouge from a parking lot.

But I'll also add brakes to your wear list. My OEM ADVANs lasted about 8500 miles w/o any track time. My Brembo pads at 25k miles were a concern, one track event (two days, novice group runs), so I replaced them before a second HPDE. Note, plan on buying nice ones, aftermarket street performance will squeal like pigs.

Rotors, using wear rate from the Brembo OEMs, probably will get to about 50k miles before needing to be replaced, assuming light and infrequent track time and my type of driving.

Operating costs are probably the main reason anybody ever sells and evo. I've been able to keep up with the tires, brakes, and oil etc, but the gas is still an ongoing cost and my insurance really went up with my latest renewal. All of that with a payment too.

I can still swing it, but I have considered selling. Another thing I did was to buy an older C4 for fun and to just use that to put miles on. Tires and brakes don't cost a lot when you only put 200 miles a month, I suppose. 18 months of daily driving the Evowas not the cheapest, but the drive was exciting.

One interesting consideration for our cars over a lot of others is the cost of replacing fluids at the service intervals.

The DiaQueen LSD for the Center and Rear Diffs isn't cheap, then there's the hydraulic ACD/AYC pump fluid (that has to be changed sometime).

Then there are those unlucky ones who will have to shell out for an SST fluid change at some point! (Although it sounds like it's still not as bad as the GT-R!)
