Costco has a very nice low profile jack. $99 I think it was. Has a very nice rubber pad on the handle (where it 'could' come up and contact the car) and on the lifting pad. Costco also has the best warrenty of all-lifetime.

I have the same exact jack, but not TireRack brand. I don't remember the brand but I baught if from PepBoys.

Anyway, went to jack up my old IX after I got it, which was several months after I repaved my driveway, and those damn little metal wheels left indentations on the blacktop.
Only other complaint besides that, it is heavy as sh*t!

If you want to spend the dough an AC Hydraulics DK20 is the way to go. Expect to pay quite a bit more, like 3 to 4 times more than HF.

Do yourselves a favor and also buy a hockey puck and cut a groove in it with a table saw making a few passes or whatever you choose. It's very helpful for not crushing that pinch weld/frame rail...

+1
It's a 3 ton that's builtproof and quality. It's also a very very low profile. No problem getting it under the aero sideskirts with Swift springs. I've used the hell outta mine for over a year and never once have I disliked it. My favorite part is how smooth and predictable the release is on it. I can't stand a floor jack the suddenly dumps without warning/feedback as you twist the handle.

I bought my low-profile jack at Costco for $99. It's identical to the Tirerack jack but is blue anodized. If you can still find one they're a steal at $99.

My dad had a snap-on jack since he was 17 which was about 28 years ago while working on Pontiacs himself, im 20 years old and im still using the same jack with not a problem in the world. Buy it once. Buy it right.

now that the USD has slid against the EURO, it is more like 8-10 times more costly..I looked into those and they are all in the $500-$600 range. I doubt they even try to market them in north America anymore at that price point.

Usually the back of the magazines. You can find them in Car & Driver, Motortrend, Import Tuner, ect.

I use the right rear jack pad. I only need so much clearance. Once the majority has drained, I use shallow pans and lower the car to get those last few drops.

I've done all of my maintenance and underside detailing shown on my site using a single hydraulic jack and a piece of 6 x 6 lumber. The MaxJax will be coming...soon hopefully.

Find a better low pro jack than the harbor freight one. I have the cheap blue one and it doesn't do the job. I always end up driving up on 2x4s to use a full size jack
