Evo X Nearing 10k Miles - Any Fluid Change Recommendations

Nearing 10k miles on my evo x, oil changes every 3k so far, which fluids should I look into changing around 10-12k

I really don't have much of a place to do maintaince my self since our apartment parking lot doesnt allow it. If my dealer oil change is around 60-70$, what can I expect for the other fluid changes?

Nothing Reeealy has to be changed at that interval, but you might consider flushing the brake fluid if you are hard on the car. I usually flush mine at pad changes...no need to take off the wheels too many times.

pretty sure the gear oils are a 30k recommendation.

Technically, since you aren't heavily modded, there isn't a reason to deviate from the owner's manual recommended intervals.

If you want to do anything sooner, that's entirely up to you

Wait, if you take your car to the track at all then you definitely want to be changing all of your fluids more often. How often depends on how many times you go to the track and how hard you push your car.

hmm i seem to remember a couple threads somwhere about people changing tranny or differential or gear box fluids at like 10k miles, does that make sense? i'm not really knowledgeable about all that stuff, i guess you are recommending that i just go by the service manual unless i drive the car extra hard which i dont

Yeah I would do transmission, transfer case, rear diff fluids. Possibly coolant if your car is already almost 2 years old from date of manufacture. Of course, this is all overkill, but it can't hurt I did all those fluids when my car was 1 year old just to flush out any junk related to break in. Had only 8k miles at the time.

A lot of guys change their fluids more often than they technically need to. It's all personal preference. If you'll feel better about it, you can change your fluids more frequently. But, you won't be hurting you car if you stick to the service intervals.

And, considering you don't drive you car very hard, there's really no mechanical reason to change fluids more often than recommended. You're car will be fine.

i would like to do flush/replace all of those fluids, only question left is what would that cost me, any idea what the dealer would charge?

That's hard to answer. Each dealer charges different rates and some areas of the country are much more expensive.

One thing you could do, is buy your own fluids. Then take them to the dealership and ask them to do the labor...that way you're only paying for labor. The dealership will overcharge for the fluids.

Or, buy the fluids and take them to a reputable garage and ask them to do the labor. Should be cheaper than the dealerships.

Or, buy the fluids and then reach out to some members in your regional forum and ask for help https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/northeast-region-40/. If you lived down by me, I could give you a hand. It's actually pretty easy to do. If you can find a local EvoM member to help you out, all it might cost you is a 12 pack and pizza

Check your manually and don't deviate from it unless you live in extremely dusty conditions which I doubt. That or if you go to the track like its your job. Good looking out for your Evo, but I think you are over thinking things. If you are itching to do something to your car, mod it lol!

My building has the same rules. I start working at 6:00 am on Saturdays or Sundays and finish at 10:00 am or sooner.
The manager likes to wake up late on weekends as everybody, lol.
Also I always look for the more convenient spot to do my stuff, were nobody can complain because my tools are on the middle of the road, good natural light, far away from entrances, etc.
As far you don't bother anybody and keep your garage surgically clean after work, they should respect your hobby, and nobody is perfect right?
