Whats not stock in my engine bay?
I thought that was what you guys meant, and I totally agree with you. I have owned the car about 5 weeks and the battery has drained completely over night 3 times already, so I want to get anything mod off the car before I take it in so they dont make any excuses.
It's one thing if you're running an aftermarket turbo, downpipe, manifold, etc and blow the car up and take it to
. It's another if you're running an intercooler and hardpipes and it blows up.
should honor very light mods or mods that have nothing to do with the problem.

I had a intake, intercooler w/ piping, CBE, HFC, short shifter w/ knob, and a boost gauge installed. I also toke my fog lights out and put a shorty antenna on. I thought for sure i would be paying for the day-time running light. They told me it was still under warrenty so it was replaced for free. But Im sure every dealership is different. The dealership I got my car from doesnt see to many modded cars.

It's usually the drivetrain warranty that mods invalidate, not the "bumper to bumper" that covers things like that. It's also likely under the dollar threshold where they need to get approval from Mitsu.

For all of you that are saying that he is committing fraud you dont know what you are talking about. In the magnuson-moss warranty act is says the aftermarket part part has to be proven to have caused the problem without reasonable doubt. So he is not committing fraud at all, thats like saying because I got after market tires and I snap an axle due to manufacture defect they will not cover it cause they werent the stock tires.
Judges and arbiters are not subject area experts. Why wouldn't they trust the manufacturer over you or your mechanic?

The mechanic takes the part off and lets the service manager know what happened. They then contact
and they tell them what to do. If it requires a representative to come to they send one.
Keep this in mind the next time you change your spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter. Basic tune up maintenance adds minimal horse power and boost. Driving in colder weather will also affect your boost.

If you cook your ACD and have an intake and upper pipes they have every reason to void your drive train. You boosted the torque over stock. If you "revert" to stock to get your ACD covered you are passing responsibility back to the dealer, avoiding the pay to play rule. Looks like a fraud duck, smells like a fraud duck, is a f*cking fraud duck.

's red tape. It's an automatic red flag having warranty work on an evo in the first place. How is that fair? Now I'll agree that changing turbos, manifolds, tunes, etc and blowing up your engine then putting all the stock stuff back on for warranty work is fraud. But definitely not a UICP and intake.

You folks win I'm crying uncle on this one.
Every time I take my car in for recalls or warranty work, the dealer takes pictures of the engine bay. Does no good cause my evo is stock. On my old lancer, I had the valve cover powdered coated and the same dealership said that it void the warranty if it was not installed by a tech form Mitsubishi...
Were any of you guys offered a "special" extended warranty at the time of sale, where any modifications would NOT void the warranty?? I was offered that, but was very skeptical in spending extra $$$ for something that another dealer might not accept. That being said, you think it was a dealer specific warranty? Just wondering if anyone else was offered this dream warranty. haha.
