JDM Ralliart IMO. It's an amazingly built filter, sounds cool, and I got some decent gains off of it. All I have is a English Racing tune, Ralliart Drop-In, ETS FMIC, UICP, LICP and I made 85whp. (Still stock exhaust). I wanted to go to a cone style filter (blitz sus), but decided against it since there isn't really any restriction on the intake any more.

But if I had to choose between your two, I'd definitely pick Works over K&N.

I've been running the Perrin drop in filter for almost 10,000 miles now with no problems. How many people started developing problems after they cleaned and oiled it themselves? Maybe some are just being too liberal with the oil coating.

Probably the works, I'm running 28psi, it just sounds like a jet the whole time. I don't get much of a blow off sound. Or maybe I just never focused on it since I usually have my stereo blasted . But really, if woosh is what you want, you want a cone filter. It's easy to change back if you have to go into the dealership.

i think this poll is going to pretty much show which aftermarket filter is most popular, not which is most prone to problems. if the MAF is crap, then the filter with the largest user base is going to show the most failures.

edit: what might make for a better poll:

[] Brand X - MAF problems
[] Brand X - No problems

for each brand.

I've used K&N filters on all the vehicles that I've owned before and never had a problem. Now I'm running K&N drop in with Perrin Stage 1 and so far so good

I guess I will say I had the 3 HKS filters for 26k miles before I had a failure.

What about the Cosworth filter? Anyone currently use one and/or experienced any issues with it?

I've also had a rough idle/rough start sometimes but it is very rare. I will say that when re-inserting the HKS filter, I noticed it doesn't go all the way around the edges of the air box like the OEM one does. I jiggled mine around a little bit until I felt comfortable with the way it sat, maybe this is were the little bit of dust is coming from??
So I'm eating my words here. Last Sat night during a WOT pull, my car threw a CEL and then a trans service require warning. At the same time the tranny started slipping the clutches and would shift so violently I started freaking out. Pulled out my AP and read a P0102 "low volumetric flow rate" (or something like that). I pulled my MAF out and saw this.

I checked and it didn't feel wet/dirty on the side after the filter. As soon as I put in the new sensor and cleared the code everything was good. I went back to the stock filter and I will say it actually shifts a little smoother.

I don't think I'm going to use my HKS filter. They just don't filter well enough and for the minor gains aren't worth the hassle. I have a Cosworth filter that I am going to try in the spring. It definately looks like a quality piece and that it would filter better than your typical aftermarket filter.
