O2 Sensor Necessary??

When installing my test pipe the 02 sensor wouldnt come off.. I used an O2 socket and other tools etc.. I ended up cutting the cable and tucking neatly under the car. I have the check engine light on right now obviously but once I get a tune will it go away? Thanks for any info on this

You need it. It reads the air & fuel mixture and sends the info back to the computer to make adjustments to other sensors to keep your a/f where it needs to be.

I think the OP is talking about the POST cat sensor. Post cat sensor is mainly used for cat efficiency diagnostic, so if you want you can remove it and eliminate CEL using an emulator or disabling this DTC in the ECU if you find the right place into the ROM.

The last I heard was that the disable hasn't been found for the X. You'd get a better answer in the ECU forum, though.
