On top of that the 135 is just fuggly and cramped, I would pay up 4,000.00 for the 335 if anything.
With the new tunes and parts out for the 135/335i about $2500 will get you almost ~400whp/450wtq. Strait line a X will need a turbo upgrade for sure. Now that they have a cheaper LSD alternative they are doing quite well at the track...if anybody has kept up with Berk's TA progress.

Two different cars and two different ball parks. I have driven both many many times and can attest to the 135/335i being superior in many ways. The only reason I keep on the evo platform is because of handling...but BMW is coming around. You can make a 135i with the right parts be every bit of good as an evo but much more livable, better gas mileage, better build quality, and worlds cheaper insurance. I'd be in one right now...but I am waiting for E92 M3's to come down just a hair more

I Agree with you in regards to material quality. But I wouldn't say that the 335 has a better ride than the MR? The MR has better suspension components (and brakes and lighter wheels) than the 335. I've driven plenty of 335i loaners cars and they didn't ride better than the X MR imo. Less Rattles? yes... But the MR flat out drives better than the 335 IMO.

I actually could have got a 335i. I'm glad I didn't. Not that I would have regretted it. It's just that the 335 is a little boring IMO after I've experienced an EVO. If I never would have driven an EVO I would have never have known what I was missing.

And Oh yeah... The 135s are just too small for my 6' skinny frame. I saw a person my height getting out of one, it wasn't pretty. It looked like the exact opposite of Midget jumping out of an Escalade.

The 335 doesn't have an LSD. When it comes to suspension, transmission, and braking performance, You need an M3 to match an EVO X MR imo. The 135 or the 335 aren't as sophisticated.

I love the look of the car and drove a ralliart lancer with the sst tranny to get a feel of it. It was a little weird but I think just a different style of driving has to be adopted.

My question is this, has anyone else moved from a BMW/any other luxury german car to an EVO, and how have you found the change.

Would you do it again? Is the EVO better? Is the drive of the EVO that good that it over shadows the difference in build quality, material etc?

Any comment welcome, thanks guys.

FYI other cars I’m looking at in the price range is the 370z coupe
well the evo is great for just fun! it depends what kind of life style you have, i have 2 evo's love both, but also have a 2008 benz and 07 gs350 lexus both great cars... the ride and qauility of things in and out of the car are 1000% better than the evo but if you are wanting to have a lot of fun with a car the evo is your car (power, steering ,handleing ecttttt....) for class or cruisingpick a luxury car..... here is something to think about if you come over to the dark side and get a evo than you are going to want to upgrade and it will cost the same of a luxury car but maitnace on luxury will cost more than a tbe or innercooler and piping , down pipe , tune so make a good pick, have fun be safe and good luck!

Two things..I am 6'4 and fit in an 135i...albeit not as good as an evo but it's not cramped...back seats are worthless though yes.

A 135i at most tracks is VERY close stock for stock just so you know been there done that. Sorry a stock X will not even come close to an M3...maybe an E46 but not even close to an E92. On a track where an M3 can stretch it's legs it will run away like nothing. With some bolt ons and a better suspension though a X is right there with it.

I was actually referring to EVO X/335 comparisons. Don't get me wrong... The 135 and 335's are nice stout cars. It's just that the EVO X MR stock has much nicer braking and suspension components than both of them. The M3 is a different story.

cost per hp

I'm taking a stats class to finish up college education, and this argument made me think that you could objectively attempt to reach a conclusion--with a math problem. Unfortunately, I'm barely staying afloat in stats, but here's what I propose.

figure in the hp of each car Evo=x hp BMW=y hp

figure in the price of each car, p

you could probably use this equation

evo= p/hp

that'll tell you what you're paying per hp

I think the evo x is rated at 295 hp
according to http://www.leftlanenews.com/mitsubis...olution-x.html
the base price for an evo is 33590

let's see what we get for cost per hp for the evo

evo=33590/295 --------> and the result for the evo is: $113.86 per hp

I'm too lazy to look up the bmw's specs are, but using the same equation, and taking nothing else but hp into account, here's a basic cost analysis...too bud I'm terrible in stats, but I get an A in 8th grade algebra eh

five months ago, I sold my wicked white evo ix rs and bought a 2007 335i, 6speed. I definitely get a lot more attention now then I did with the Evo, especially with the more "mature" crowd and women. Women compliment me on the car constantly. The acceleration and handling feel almost the same. This Bimmer can handle a corner almost like an AWD rally car. ITS INSANE!!! Please test drive one and you'll feel what im talking about.

Still, i really miss the Evo. I've been thinking about going back to Evolution. I miss the Fun factor that a Bimmer doesn't give me. It's gotta be the AWD "feel of the road" that I miss. It's weird. I don't know.....

So, if you want to attract women who like BMWs and old men, buy a 335i.

I'm perfectly happy attracting teenage males in my Evo.

...

Wait. That didn't sound right at all.

I mean, I'm perfectly happy attracting young, nubile boys who want to touch my stick.

****, that didn't sound right either. Ya know what, I'm bowing out.

I went from a EVO 8 to a porsche 911 turbo (now lightly modded with 200 cell europipe and a tune [Around 525 hp]) and I still mis my Evo. I'm am currently in negotiations with my wife to get another one (without selling the 911).
Nothing is quite like an Evo.

Well, let's see. BMW 325I, C32, E55, and a G35X. Oh, and a 500 HP Porsche 911. I know what fast feels like and I know what luxury feels like. I like the look and feel of the EVO, the fact I can mod it so easily, and the fact I almost never see another car like mine on the road.

I "downgraded" from an older Lexus ES300 to a Ralliart, and I love the Ralliart way more than my Lexus. But then again, I'm not the type to care about leather seats/power seats or status or all that junk. All my friends who know nothing of the car, said I made a mistake and I should have stuck with the Lexus.

The Lexus though, driving at 70 miles an hour was a more comfortable ride then my Ralliart going 45 though.
