Tire chains = no way.

You MIGHT be able to use cables...but why...

It's an Evo, and they're terrific in snow assuming you have some decent snow tires or all seasons.

I have driven my Evo or any of my DSM's for that matter in some pretty bad (snow) conditions and with the proper tires, it'll get you to where ever you need to without any problems. Good luck and have fun. Reminds me, i need to go snowboarding before the slopes close.

Hell NO! DO NOT even try it. You will more than likely either get stuck or wind up in the ditch. The stock Advans can't do **** in the snow/ ice.

Do not drive in the snow with the OEM tires. I know people have done it before but its dangerous.

No the stock tires are summers, and are a major FAIL in snow

at least attempt to read the owners manual, the supplements, or the contract disclaimers from the dealership about your tires.

Big no no using chains on a cv jointed cars.unless your driving on 100% snow which most likely is not the case. The vibrations will with tear your cv joints up.I speak from experience a dude at work did that to one of the cars at work and tore up both front cv joints.

Do not even dare to put cables on those Advans. It wont work. I see you're from LA. If you're going to Big Bear, please get at least some All Season tires.

The stock Advans on snow make the X feel like it's on solid ice.. you'll wreck, especially since it sounds like you have no snow driving experience.

If you're going to be driving on snowy and icy roads, get a proper set of snow tires (not all seasons which suck as well), or take another vehicle properly equipped.

I tried driving last year on my stock tires through a Cleveland winter, luckily I "only" went off into the ditch once. (I also often couldn't get up my 20 degree inclined driveway). This year I have winter tires, it's night and day difference, alot of the times that it's snowed I haven't even bothered to scrape off my driveway, I just drive right through. I would NOT attempt to drive the evo up in the mountains with the summer tires, it would be very dangerous.
