Definitely track us down, most events are broken up into a morning and afternoon session. Once they establish the run order we'll announce a "rough" schedule of when we are expected to be on the track.
All the details should be at http://onelap.rochesterdsm.org/therides/
The goal is to run about ~550 crank HP @ 27 psi and ~520 crank HP @ 25 psi.
Basically I'll have an updated Dyno session as soon as weather allows me to slap on the summer wheels and tires. I plan on testing a bunch of maps that are slightly leaner and/or higher timing to find that sweet spot for 27 psi boost. I'm also going to slightly increase the boost in .5 psi steps to see where the limits of 93 octane are and determine if boost, timing, or AFR is going to make the most safe power.
Still, we are likely going to drop the boost down ~2 psi from max when running on the track so that there is less chance to break something. That extra 30 hp won't make or break us and there will still be the toggle switch to run the higher boost if we feel it will make the difference.
How much HP is your evo going to be making?

Can't wait to see these cars in action. The 2009 OLOA GVR4 kicked *** & with changes for 2010 & lessons learned from last year, the car should finish in the top 10. This event is a great way for the 2010 OLOA Evo X to flex it's muscle in a very highly visible event. Hoping both cars finish in the top 10 in the #1 spots for their classes.

Well Sean and I got the BC Racing ER series coilovers installed on Saturday and initial impressions are they are MUCH better than the Eibach spring/stock shock combo. On smooth pavement the car feels similar, moderate bumps are more noticeable but the car holds it's course in a turn very smoothly. On rough roads you definitely feel the stiffer suspension but it absorbs even large bumps with a single bump where as the old setup tended to have a couple extra bounces while the shocks tried to control the progressive springs approaching it's stiffest compressed state.
Plans are to get it corner weighted at STM after it settles for a week and the weather has been very kind the last few days allowing me to likely get away with keeping the 19" summer wheel & tire combo on the car. Granted it's still in the 30-40* F range but so far the car turns in extremely responsively without too much oversteer on the 10k/10k setup. Sean recently purchased a digital camber gauge and we were able to dial in -2.5* front camber and -1.2* rear camber. Toe ended up being reasonable based on the inside edges of the tires not being that much hotter than the outside or middle after a spirited drive. The car tracks straight but I'll get it aligned for near zero toe after corner weighting at STM is completed. For fun we tested a slammed 2.0" drop up front but after seeing that the aluminum low profile jack would not even fit under the SSS side skirts we quickly decided that the drop was not going to be worth the hassle. We ended up with a ride height that was similar to the Eibach at about 1.0" - 1.25" lower than stock.
The VR4 piloted by Tim and Stephen is definitely going to be our major competition although the rest of the field will likely be no pushover either with 9 cars already signed up! When you see people like Leh Keen piloting a 2003 Porsche GT2 (luckily in another class) you'll know some of the drivers we'll be up against won't be out for a Sunday drive! Considering that most everyone else will likely have more experience than us, Sean and I will have to do the best with what we have and showcase how amazing a well prepared Evo X can be even in moderately experienced hands.
I'm not sure which pressure to perform will be higher, the fact that the VR4 team is expected to improve on the already excellent results over last year with a competitive car and experienced Onelap drivers or the fact that the Evo X will likely be one of the most competitive cars in it's class assuming we drive it to it's full potential.
Well, we are going to find out pretty soon aren't we!?!

I managed to get some more seat time on the BC Racing ER series Coilovers today while it was 60*F outside, powering out of some favorite turns I was getting that sick slight oversteer feel that the car wanted to go faster and turn harder all while being very stable... what a rush, I can't wait to get this car on the track now especially since this is only on the 10k/10k springs and just a baseline 10 out of 30 for Compression and Rebound settings at all four corners!
You can read more about it here at:

More news to follow after our corner weighting session this Saturday and I'll likely get some Dyno numbers for the latest round of engine changes.

The VR4 definitely takes the show from a paint job perspective and is very visible on the track. If all goes as planned I hope to have some very visible sponsor logos dressing up the side of the Evo X as well in addition to those that have already signed on.

So we had some corner weighting madess at Street Tuned Motorsports on Saturday and got the car a bit better balanced. You can read more about the numbers we got here:

A big thanks goes out to Emery for offering use of his scales to get the car closer to being dialed in for the event. I'll have the car's Toe aligned to zero and start mapping out what settings work best depending on road conditions. I don't know about other parts of the country but this winter has left the local streets in shambles!

In preperation for the mix of street driving between all the road courses and then actually going all out on the tracks, the Evo X hit the dyno to make sure all was healthy. Read more about it here:
