HID Fog lights, how to identify bulb.

I got my EVO X used and come to find out the previous owner put HID Fogs on there but not HID headlights, go figure. Well one of the HID bulbs isn't working and I don't know how to identify so I can replace. Anyone help me? Ballest doesn't have any stamp of identification on it. One of the wires for the HID bulb reads: awm style 3239 200*C. Thanks.

Post up a pic of the plug end, and someone may be able to help.

^if the stockers are H11 for the fogs then that is 99.99% likely the application the original owner used with a HID kit from ebay or somewhere else to replace the stock fog lights with. The bulb type dictates the actual socket so if the actual headlight assembly is stock it would have an H11 socket on it, expecting an H11 bulb to go in it.

If you remove the bulb usually the base of the bulb will have an indication regarding the bulb type. As the previous poster said, post a picture of the bulb base as you can usually find pictures online that we could compare against.

i think the bulb are the same, the one where is different is the where that lock the bulb in place. so if the bulb can lock good in your housing, then it's good enough

As you guys stated, H11 HID are the ones. Well they look like they are:

Looks correct. This is the type of view you want to compare as the tabs shown are what fit into the H11 socket:

This is some person's random picture I found on google images that lists H11, so I'm making the assumption jump that he is correct. It looks very much like the one that you show.

Check the connections, chances are that the connections may be loose and check the relays. I find that cheaper HID kits are very picky, when they are hook up to relays, if the relay does not connect properly the HID will not ignite.

The hid bulb comes from and hid conversion kit. Therefore you need an H11 style HID bulb. (HID Bulb with H11 base).

If you are sure it is a bulb problem, its best to replace the bulb with the same type. But since you dont know what kit it is, its going to be tricky.
From what i know the clips are the same clips available from VVME hid kit. You can give them a shot and see if it works.

The picture of that bulb looks identical to the one I have in my car. I looks like any other generic HID H11 bulb. The only thing I am not sure is if the bulb would be different if you have a 35W vs a 55W ballast. I have a 35W myself.

Got a picture of the ballast? Is it slim?

Ballast is similar to this one just a bit thicker:

Checked out the VVME kit but hard to tell if that's the one. My ballasts have absolutely nothing written on them.

Did you try swapping the bulbs from left to right and vice versa to make sure it is the bulb that fried but not the ballast?

If you did then just get a replacement bulb. I am not sure if a live link to ebay is allowed, but I sent you a PM where I got mine.

That what I meant to do but the clips on the passenger side are hard as hell to get out. Driver side clips are easy cause they are different. But I think it's the bulb, it's a little brown on the inside of the little tube.
