There's no room for more resonators with your set up. I've already tried. Even if you could squeeze another resonator in you still wouldn't pass sound. The only set up that would pass is the OEM exhaust.

Putting 90s on both tips of the 76s may work but the weight of them and the attachment method may damage the tips. The gauge of the stainless is not that heavy.

Let me check to see if they added more sound checks.

This seems quite ridiculous, the whole point of going to the track is being able to drive your car how you CANT drive it on the road.

Agreed !

Delkat - thanks for the info... I'm wondering if just putting my stock cat back in the mix would be enough to pass the test. I know it's not ideal as far as power is concerned but it might be an option.

If you are tuned without the cat you might want to be careful, putting it on is going to put a lot of back pressure that you are not tuned for.

This has been going on for years and he is right. The wealthy people have influenced the City to put restrictions on the track.

last time I read about it they have to hold the AMA (sportbike and the Moto Gp) races on the same weekend.

Plus the traffic there is no very good. They only have a few ways in and out so it causes some serious bottlenecks.

It sucks that rich people can ruin it for everyone else just because they have some cash.

If they did not want the noise then why did they move there?

We have this same problem with Denver International Airport. poeple that live 15 miles away complain about the low flying planes. Well why didn't you think about that when you moved in. I just don't understand complainers, whiners.

They just want to feel important and get attention, at the expense of the rest of us.

But Laguna is such a fun track to drive with a beautiful racing surface.....it makes the hassle well worth it.

So what I found out so far from the track organizers that I know is that "officially", in addition to the sound check between 5 and 6, there is a "roving" check. There seems to be issues with the implementation of the equipment for the roving check so no one is sure that it actually ever gets used.

I ran the 76S with the stock cat. It is significantly quieter than with the HFC but you would still be chancing it.

I drove there many times with 105db exhaust by lifting as I pass the sound check. I was competing for lap times so it was very difficult to lift off the pedal when you are going ***** out to get the best qualifying time possible. The reason I know it was 105db is that during the last couple minutes of the last session you just go full throttle past the sound booth and get blacked flagged on the last lap of the day.

Well, I'm thinking that to be on the safe side and not to have to mess around too much, I might just put the Stock Cat-back (Edit: + stock Cat) on and then remap to the stock tune for this event. I'll just need to pick up a Tactrix cable (or similar) which I was going to get anyway.
Yes, I'll be down on power but I'll be under the noise limit and saves fabbing new exhaust parts.

Any thoughts ?

Can you elaborate a little for me ?
How far away was the reading taken ? Was it from the rear or to the side ? Idle, moving, accelerating, WOT ? Uphill, downhill, flat ?

Thanks.

Those are the exact terms I use to describe women.

Sorry for the post, but I just had to!

I'm sorry Laguna has such harsh restrictions.
Is there a standard used for that sound pressure measurement?
The "decibels" don't say much unless there is a reference they're quoting against.
