2009 Nürburgring Evo X SST

Dunno if it was posted before, was looking for info on Evo X SST racing, rallying or whatsoever motorsport... and endup on that video.

I have no idea what kind of upgrade was done to that SST, but if it can run 24 hours... Must be good!

I don't think a stock 5 speed would endure 24 hrs in that car. The syncro's would go south after a while, especially with me driving it lol!

Wow, I can't imagine driving 24-hours on such a grueling track, especially at night.. heck, even doing one lap in GT4 is nerve-racking, lol.

Cool vid though, thanks!

The 5MT would old up fine if your not smashing the syncros to death to death. Gear smashing doesn't always mean you're shifting faster, it just means you're excited lol.

They did a software change to the transmission in conjunction with Getrag. The car is almost stock. It was built by Tic Gbr and Getrag to showcase and test the transmission.

Yeah, since this is a lightened track specific car with rollcage, it must be more than just the tranny cooler. Various magazines, at least when testing the 2008 MR, would unfortunately get the MR to go into "limp" mode after only 1-2 laps around a track driving hard - with a warning sign about the tranny overheating. Perhaps it is also something in the 2010 MR SST programming, but for a race specific car it probably goes far more than factory reprogramming.

Also, is this a 2010 MR tranny or a 2008 going around the Ring? Didn't the 2010 MR's just start coming out? It would take a while to get it track specific ready, and when was this video shot?

Our stock TA-X transmissions don't last long before the syncros start crunching and we don't really jam the gears in it. I'm telling you, a stock 5 speed X trans would NOT last a 24 hour race.

There are a few simple things that can be done...this is not an issue any longer.
