Question about downpipe?

Is a new down pipe really good for the car? And if so who has the best one? Right now I'm waiting to get the turbo xs high flow cat, but im wondering should I get a down pipe aswell.

Right now on the car I have:
SpeedCircuit cat back exhaust
SpeedCircuit upper innercooler pipe
ETS intake

A regular downpipe will do nothing for you, if you are going to get a downpipe get an 02 housing downpipe, that will open things up a little bit, but beware if you are not inclined to work hard and sweat over an install, have someone else install it

I dont mind the work, I helped with the cat back exhaust. And the intake and innercooler pip i did myself. I just wanna get the main bolt ons on the car so im still semi in warrenty and can get a good gain when I get it tunned.

Sounds good, but really if your going to get a down pipe I think you will only really benefit if you get a test pipe as well, that is the biggest bottle neck, so if you are just going to run a HFC, I think you will be better off spending the cash elsewhere

about 360. You will probably be ok, but if you decide you want to push it too far past that range, you will start to get a lot of restriction with the HFC

right now.. im ordering the AMS o2 housing/downpipe for my X...

currently im running AMS testpipe, single exit catback and an AEM intake.... when i get the DP put in im getting it tuned...

i spoke to my tuner and he told me with these parts alone im expecting roughly 335-350 awhp...

like evolution said if u dont get the o2 housing with it.. ur better of getting something else... but if you really want some low end grunt.. get the o2 housing/dp from AMS !

good luck keep us posted

I want 350-370 hp after I get it tunned, just want to make sure I have all the right bolt ons so I can have that. Next will be the 3.5 FMIC with the HFC, and I might get a LICP but I dunno if it will help anything.

Get the test pipe and scrap the HFC idea. i was skeptical at first, but pulled the trigger on it. It really opens things up and is good for a few ponies. If your worried about the environmental issues, go plant a tree or something to balance it out.
