If you plan on driving on the street most of the time I wouldn't do it unless you actually take it out (so bolt in cage only) to drive on the street. You might be ok with a "roll bar" (four point) BUT if you get in an accident in a car with a halo the chances of hitting your bare skull on the cage are pretty high. If you really want a cage it needs to be custom with the doors gutted for bars and you need to wear a helmet all the times w/ airbags removed. I had a cage in my gc8 and knowing what I know now I may as well have been driving the bus from speed.

i think vivid racing was marketing a 4 & 6 point bolt in for the x at one point in time but i'm not 100% on that.

Bolt-in cages like cusco and similar ... Basically anything that you just bolt on is probably more dangerous than not having that. There's a reason why FIA requires racecars to have CHASSIS WELDED roll cages.

I'd never put a bolt-in roll cage in my car. If anything, I remember the Evo IX rollcage from Cusco. It was a showcage, nothingelse.

the fact that you can't even find a roll cage on your own, or know somebody local that makes them (every track has one) tells me you don't really need one.

i know many people who MAKE them, but since im coming from the vw scene, i figured that asking on a MITSUBISHI forum would be smart since most of you have more knowledge then most, and would steer me into the right direction.

thanks for being arrogant and adding no valuable information to my thread.

look up for auto power , those guys make them too.
Also there is a FIA regulation how and which kind of bolt in cage you can use .

Bolt in cage are approved if they meet or build by the FIA standards.
Here is the cage blue prints and the whole 9 yard about FIA regulation for rally. But also you can find for other races. Usually the Rally cages are the most complex and the highest standard cages for obvious reasons.

Here is one GREAT place to get a cage material or even the whole cage.
http://www.customcages.co.uk/news-room/bolt-in-news
They are a best in buisness and really they are not that expensive.

Also if you want a nice install or cage and you willing to come to NJ. I know who can make you a best one. They are over 25 years in rally . They build champ evos for USRC and so.

More in PM..

Rob

Ouf. Thats hard on the back and knees. But hey, nothing comes easy, and if it does, it goes just as easy.

I've only had my Evo X since october so I am just starting to look into modifications as summer is getting closer, and doing the proper research so I'm not spending money on parts/mods that don't perform as well as others, and instead use what is proven to work and work well.

I was actually looking into the cisco cage also. I guess not anymore. Lol not to say im better but I bought my new evo x when I was 19. About 2 mounts after I turned 19. Somedays it's worth it. Someday its not. Only thing I needed was a co signer. I have paid all my own payments too im 21 now. Only 4 more years left. Ugh
