Yeah if the car is super loud, maybe they did have a key to get inside. Any more details other than when the car was stolen might help. Do you have Lojack? Have you already reported this to the authorities, your insurance, etc?

They probably towed it. This is why I hate living in Jersey. Can't have anything nice without having to worry about stupid %#^$# stealing your car This is one of the main reasons why I didn't buy a subie, becuase the evo is suppose to be more secure and less of a magnet to these scum thieves.

I'm pretty sure he would know if his car was getting repo'd, perhaps by not paying his car payments?? As for thinking it is as simple as looking for pink wheels, don't be too sure, If i were a thief the first thing I would do was to go get a can of spray paint and paint those a different color. Call your local powdercoaters and tell them to notify you if they have anyone come in with pink enkie wheels.

A friend had a Lexus GS400 (sold it recently, but..) that had a keyless entry system. This is all word of mouth from him, but apparently in Japan it's easy to steal keyless entry system-equipped cars. I doubt that the technology has made its way to Jersey, but you never know. Just something to think about.

Hmmm I would have thought the wheels would pretty much deter anyone.

I don't think the wheels aren't going to help him. The guys who stole this car aren't your average everyday thief. I'm sure they were pros to know how to steal the car without making a sound. His car likely got put on a flatbed and taken straight to a chop shop and has already been completely gutted. The wheels likely were immediately repainted. And all of this will be sold within a week.

Sucks OP. Sorry to see that. Do you have GAP insurance in case you are upside down on your loan? Did you have any of your aftermarket parts listed on your auto policy?

THIS
People aren't going to risk getting caught, they would rather ditch the car in a lake than get caught for stealing a car, sorry, but if you dont have lojack, you wont be seeing your car again.

Statistics in my country are 3 out of 1000 vehicles stolen are found... So you can be quite certain you can start looking for a another one...
