They will continue to sell parts & other goods but they will close down the following departments:

Ralliart Online Store
Ralliart hosted events (race driver classes, etc.)

*The online store will continue to sell products until 28 Mar 2010.
More info here in Japanese.

ralliart is what makes mitsubishi viable in the eyes of the consumer. most parts they develop are used in homologation for grp N rallies. does it mean that the hiatus from motorsports is a permanent one? they should keep it even in small scale just so we can still see developed parts for the evo. is the X going to be the last of the evolution line up?
In my opinion they never really penetrated the marketplace on their own cars for the performance aftermarket. I was always wondering how they survived, such a wasted brand name when it could have been so successfull.
I think they are just way too expensive. Not if they are wasnt a great quality, but they prices are way too over they head.
Prices were on par I believe, sure you can achieve the same if not more HP for less but it doesn't have a warranty and everyone you take your car to acts as if their the "MOD GOD" until you're 20 miles down the road with major issues and holes in your pocket and no warranty to lean against. If you don't believe me do a search and watch how many posts come up about after-market air intakes that caused the car to run like crap. Something so simple and mindless as that can cause a real problem if the car is not set up properly!

A very sad day indeed. It's truly unfortunate, but if the current market trends keep up this is ultimately where many prominent Japanese manufacturers very well may end up.

This is too bad but I must say that while their parts are of very good quality it's hard to justify the high sticker price when compared to equaly performing domestic & japanese parts that sell for sometimes half the cost.
