Newbie looking for help on leasing
I'm DEFINITELY getting an evo X but im looking at leasing it...I was hoping some of you guys could help me out by telling me what type of deal I should push for. Or maybe those of you that lease can tell me what type of monthly payments you make on it.
FYI im looking at the GSR
Thanks

I agree...but then again, I have to ask - is this a lease through business or a personal lease? If through business, and your overhead can cover car payments, go for it, and when your lease expires, upgrade to a new EVO - the beauty of a lease...through business. If this is a personal lease, then you may want to reconsider - especially with the hassle of leasing rules - with the option of purchasing yourself (you can pretty much do whatever you want, and take advantage of
financing, if you wish, or loan from other banks).

Yeah, considering the majority of folks here are into modding and upgrading their Evos, I doubt there's very many that actually lease or would recommend it.
I totally don't see the purpose in it, but good luck with your decision

Somebody here in AZ wanted to do the same thing. But we all will pretty much try to deter you from leasing an Evo. Maybe a more luxurious car, like a Bimmer, who happen to have a top notch leasing program. You may know that you can mod leased cars with the factory performance upgrades or the companies' sister aftermarket parts provider; for example, Nismo for Nissans. But in the case of the Evo, Ralliart just closed up shop, so no more parts from them, and no more upgrading a leased Evo under warranty... I mean, you could always mod it, but would really need to take good care of it for when you have to return it (after you take all the mods off). But if you can get a lease on an Evo, chances are, you have good enough credit to purchase it with the 0% financing or whatever they have going on now...
Lol you guys are pretty passionate about this. I see your point but the reason I want to lease is because Ive heard rumors of the evo XI coming out in 2013 so I figured once my lease is up id upgrade. It doesn't sound like theres anyone at all in this forum thats leased an evo lol maybe I should reconsider =[

i lease mine, its not that bad...400/month for three years (15,000 miles a year). sometimes i wish I could do engine mods and the like, but most of the time i just enjoy driving it. ive done a bunch of exterior mods (cf lip/ducts/wingless) and the dealership didn't care as long as I took it off when i gave it back. I decided to lease it for similar reasons that you are: i figured id enjoy it for a few years, and then when the lease is up id get a new model, or something else (lately ive been eyeing the new m3's or C63 amg's
).

Buy it... You can work a deal and get it so that by the time a "new evo" comes out you could goto a carmax or equivalent and just hand them the keys. At very least pay the loan off. Good luck with your decision
My buddy leased his evo. You still need to negotiate the price down and any other fees to make it a decent deal. The current lease special is NOT that special.
And I agree with most of the other dudes, modding a leased car seems problematic. If you don't mind staying stock... go for it.

How is leasing a waste of money?
It's all about the deal. If the money factor is low and there are little to no fees it can be very advantageous. Not to mention you only pay sales tax on the depreciation (instead of the entire value of the car). If you are the type of person who only keeps cars 2-4 years, it's something to consider.
