heavy backfire

Found the problem today...the vacuum hose to the fuel pump was not tightened and installed correctly. Creating the boost pressure to backfire. Sooooo after 2 days of downtime my baby is back running at a 100% thanks for all the inputs though people.

Good to hear. My evo does that too once in awhile I'll check my fuel pump tomorrow thanks for the info.

I can take a pic of the mechanic paper with what they found wrong. Ill do it first thing in the morning. I honestly could not tell you which hose. The paper has a short description on it. Hopefully you can decipher it and it will help you

Probably was the hose going to the fuel pressure regulator. My car did exactly what you're describing when mine blew off.

Yes sir, that's exactly what it says. " found loose vacuume at fuel pressure regulator; repaired connection at vacuum line at fuel pressure regulator"

Hope this helps. And its easy to test, go 30-35 MPH, put it fifth, and stomp it to the floor andsee what happends.
