From my experiance with extended warranties.
My engine overheated last year and I pulled the whole head out.
I contacted the extended warranty company and they said that my car is still covered under the original factory warranty and they can't do anything yet, they told me to bring it to the dealer but I couldn't in that stage, it had so much after market stuff installed and the dealer would just deny it anyways.
I ended up paying out of pocket for everything and soon I cancelled my extended warranty becaus it was bull****.
Extended warranties take effect when manufaturer warranty expires.

 

dealership here doesn't give a crap, they'll warranty anything, they get paid the same
