OEM Windshield Wipers = FAIL

Has anyone had any problem with the wipers. I've only had them on for 12k and the rubber piece ripped off. Just wondering why its been worn down so fast.

That's about all they are good for, at least here in Michigan. Winter/summer cycles really take a toll on them. I'm at 15k miles and I'm surprised they've lasted this long. I'm about to get some of the single piece (Rain-x?) wipers soon. I put them on all my past cars and they do a *perfect* job under all weather conditions and they last a long time.

Both of mine went at 5k miles, rubber started separating off. I don't drive the evo in snow/ice and rarely drive it in the rain unless I get caught in it while out. Having the car sit out on the lot in the weather for 2+ years will do that to them though.

Really? I've had my evo for about 22000 Km, and the wipers are still working fine. I think they are the best wipers I've ever had on a car.

Dang I just now changed mine at 32k for the first time. I put those single-piece flimsy ones on there. They work amazing. Bosch Icon I think?

You should replace your wiper blades once a year, as a general rule.

Unless, of course, you live in SoCal or another part of the country where it hardly rains (and doesn't snow).

The Self-Entitled Generation. Do a google and see why this is possibly the most unbearable generation of self-entitle whiners to ever grace the earth. Threads like this just make me sad. How many threads of "Wipers = Fail", "OMG rock chips, crappy Mitsubishi", "Cracked my windshield, Mitsubishi junk", "Plastic valve cover? I deserve better", etc. do we really need?

I wish you would all buy the $100,000 cars you all seem to think you deserve and leave these forums to people that enjoy what these cars have to offer without bickering over every little thing that happens to pretty well every car manufactured these days which a pretty small really. It wasn't too many decades ago where it was just nice just to have a car that started consistently in the cold weather and lasted 100K miles without falling apart.

I consider wiper blades a standard mod. On this car I went with Bosch ICONS. They aren't perfect but better than stock.
