well I don't know that I would call a post from one user proof... but it is a start. Perhaps HiBoost or one of the good tuners on here could tell us what they have seen on a repeated basis.

Yeah I guess so! I guess I'm just looking for excuse to pull the trigger on my 35R kit, lol.
But that is a start! Let's keep them coming!

Also, according to his signature thingy, he doesn't even own an X.

I have a 2002 WRX that gets ~28MPG w/ an Evo 3 16g. Therefore, we should get even better.

Not gonna happen, I love my evo too much. Call me crazy or just an enthusiast! My goal is to improve it's mpg and horsepower at the same time. If I can get it to around 30 mpg it will make all the diffference!!!
I'm gonna go ahead and build a 35 or 37r and let everyone now how it turns out.

I think the turbo will help, but the tune is going to make the most difference. If you are stuck on getting better mileage then go for the turbo kit, and I think it's shep transmissions that are making a 5 speed with taller gears, it doesn't make a huge difference in RPM's, but I think 300-400 less highway, remove some weight, make sure the tire pressure is at least at the minimum if not a few lbs more, learn to be able to modulate the throttle to keep the least amount of load on the engine as well.

Cool bro, I'm gonna look into getting that taller 5th. Should really help since 80% of my drive is on the highway!

Well, yeah, but in Slovenia, aren't you constantly running from Soviet troops crossing the border or something? That's got to negatively impact gas mileage.

If you have an AFR gauge, monitoring it understanding when the engine cuts fuel to 0 on liftoff and when it does not and when the car goes into closed loop (14.7) or open also help a lot on changing your driving habits to get better mileage.
You've gotta know these things if you live ina country where a liter of fuel is 2.6$ thats about 11.7$ per gallon.
