Seatbelt chime while driving

Having a problem on my 08 Evo X, that even if I buckle my seatbelt and then drive, the seatbelt indicator in the LCD comes on along with the chime.

I have tried buckling and unbuckling the drivers side seatbelt (I have no one sitting in passengers seat), and tried buckling the passengers side to no avail. It thinks I never put on my seatbelt and the seatbelt light never shuts off (though the chime stops after a few min).

I'm just past 36k mi so I don't think I can take this to the dealership. Help!!

could this be a relay problem? If not then you have a loose connection around where the seat belt plugs in. Take the seat out if it makes it easier but adjusting it all the way to the rear should give you a good look at it.

Why not just have the dealer replace/fix it. It's under warranty, you might need a new buckle.

I looked under the seat and everything looks to be connected. Is there even a seatbelt relay? The passengers side seems to work fine, it's just the drivers side is not recognized.

There would a fuse for it, but I've heard of the relays causing some weird things. I haven't picked up my X yet so I really haven't looked at the fuse box or anything but it might be related to a few other things. I've heard of the headlight relay going bad and the cars head lights turning on and off on their own. Also heard of the horn relay causing the horn to go off at random times. Just curious but take it to mitsu and let them fix it.
