MR chrome window trim - removing rubber weatherstrip

Has anyone ever successfully removed the rubber weatherstrip portion off the trim without damaging either part?? I want to blackchrome the chrome portion only, then re-adhere the black weatherstripping.

Otherwise I plan to sell them if this can't be accomplished:

Yes I did, that's what I have on right now. I have Black chrome throughout my car (will do headlights next), just thought is this was possible with this trim to help out the accents.

You could always blackchrome the stock chrome with out taking the strips off. Just tape them really well before shooting them.
