New Evo MR Owner

Just wanted to say hi. Picked up a new 2010 MR last Monday and have learned a lot already from the forum. All I can say is I am glad I upgraded from the eclipse . I will try to refrain from asking the same old questions and make good use of the search.

Welcome to the club!

Just have a quick question regarding the newer MRs. Do you still have to give the gas pedal a quick pump before accelerating from a clean stop (esp. during those left turns when opposing traffic is getting close). For the older dc tranny before the reflash, there is a bit of lag when you hit the gas before it actually goes...which can lead to some dicey situations. I've learned pretty quickly on to give the gas pedal a quick pump to "wake-up" the tranny before accelerating out. Since all the newer MRs have the newer programming, I wonder if this is still the case. Thanks!

I've never witnessed that with my 08. It's always ready to go. (manual and automatic). The only time i've seen dicey situations is running in automatic mode and the car shifting down but you mash the gas (thinking rolling a stop sign) and the car is still shifting but you're trying to go (only happens for a fraction of a second).

No I havn't noticed that. From a dead stop there seems to be no hesitation. The only thing I have noticed is if your slowing down and it's in between gear shifts it takes a faction of a second to grab the lower gear if your getting on it.

Man, I got my GSR 2 weeks ago but cant find myself to get rid of my eclipse. Its a 97 GSX with a freshly built motor its barely about to be done so I prolly hold on to it for about a year then get rid of it, maybe.
