bad design on the hood?

i just finished washing my car and popped open the hood to check something and the water was draining through the openings of the hood. is this normal? i'm pretty sure when the hood is closed water doesn't leak into the compartment but shouldn't that be the case when the hood is open as well?

Water leaks in at all times. It will happen with any vented hood.

The hood was designed properly.

Yes, a hood with large vents in it *may* get water in it.

i know it's a vented hood silly, but couldn't they done something with the angle of opening that prevent leaks when the hood is up?
