Getting the stock '10 tune
Getting the stock '10 tune
Hi All,
Would it be possible, as a stock '08 X GSR owner, to get the stock ecu mapping for the '10 models? According to a couple '08 and '10 owners, the '10s are making around 10-15 more WHP and torque than the '08s due to a revised ECU. To my knowledge, there are absolutely no mechanical and component differences between the '08 and the '10 models, so would it be possible for somebody like me to ask for the stock '10 map on my '08?
I don't exactly want to void my warranty by getting a tune from a third party tuner shop, so I figured that this may be a good idea. Also, this would probably be free, if they even let me do it.

I would venture to state that putting a 2010 tune in your 2008 without a mitsubishi tsb or approved upgrade path is the same as voiding your warranty with an aftermarket job, so may as well just go all in for a hotter calibration.
When you go to the dealer, since there have been a few recalls on '08 Evos; they should be updating the ECU so you would most likley get it then. I have not heard about the '10s being more powerful though.
