Upgrading ECU on 08 thru dealer

What are the benefits of having the dealer update the ECU on an 08 GSR to the newest ECU tune? I am on the verge of purchasing an 08 and called my nearest dealer. They said they could do it if I wanted them to. Have you guys done it and is it worth the cost? They say if its less than 30 minutes or so it will be around 50.00. I want to get the trans fluid changed right away too. The car has about 46K miles. Any thing else I should look at to get caught up on maintenance?

MM make sure all the recalls of the call have being done and change the fuel pump relay to the blue if is have not being change yet. Beside that you should be good for the stock evo.

I called my nearest mitsu dealer they said I have the rest of the powertrain. It only has an intake as far as I know. I was just reading on the forums about the dealer reflashing and wanted to know if it's worth it. I plan on doing basic bolt ons and trying to keep warranty intact for a while.

well you shouldn't have to pay for it afaik...

it should be a TSB to upgrade to the most recent ROM.
