Trade in value for the lose
sad thing is dealers know that an evo or a sti is nothing like a camry, because camry's turnover rate in their lots is quite high. Think about how long you guys have waited for selling your evo/sti, and dealers know very well. dealers can take advantage of you selling your evo/sti, because they know there aren't people buying them. I hate them as well, but what can we really do.
A bmw is a different story, bmw got good cpo program and by slapping on cpo on that traded-in car of yours they are instantly raising the price.

Yup the dealerships are out to make a nice hefty profit on a car they bring in on trade. Heck, when i sold them my 2G turbo Eclipse, they gave me 6k for it. They turned around and sold it to some military guy for 12,900. I knew i should've just kept it and sold it privately. Lesson learned though.

Sorry to hear Noize. I mean, ~22K is just a straight low ball.
Have you shopped around? I traded by '08 GSR at SCM and got $24K (on trade). Albeit traded in for a 2010, but still a fair deal on the sale price too.

I ended up taking a $1000 off of what I would have liked to have had on my base GSR, but it did move on CL after I did that. I did negotiate to keep my extra stuff for to sell separate and kept some tires that also fit the front on my other car...not too bad considering I had put 20k miles on it. (I got $23,500 cash plus about $500 in consideration for the parts I got to keep).
also...don't know what your local economy is like, but it seems the local deal is probably your best bet...I never got any action from the forum advert.
It's been 2 or 3 months sans evo X and I love it. I probably won't do another evo with payments...the operating costs are too substantial...ok, I'll admit I miss the steering and s-awc.

haha thats just funny.
I went to the Dodge dealership because they had a 08 X gsr with 13k on it. the kbb on my car is something like 18k or 19k? something like that.
They said if I paid cash, I could get their car for $20,995! But with trade in it would be 26k and my car would only be valued at.....*drum roll* 10k! Sooooo Me paying 16k on top of my car to get their car. I laughed at them and said have a nice day

I've always gotten KBB trade-in on my cars but that's because I don't try to negotiate the price of the new car! They are going to make their money on one line or the other but if you have an incentive (sales tax) for your trade-in to be worth more then they don't care which line their profits are on...
I'm really not that surprised. I mean, sure a lot of people on this forum paid $34k-$36k for a new GSR with SSS.... in early 2008. But some of us got the same car a month before the 2010's came out, still brand new, for $26k-$28k (depending on 0%). I'm one of those jerks
Considering the NEW value is around $26k, asking that much with 9k miles used is a bit silly. You should have jumped at the $26,400 offer imo
It's still very much a buyer's market, even in the use car game.
