ebrake handle loose?

I just noticed my ebrake handle assembly wiggles side to side when its down, does anyone else have this problem? I popped the top center console part off and looked in side, didn't see any bolts that hold it in place just one big rivet. I'm going to have to take the whole center console apart to get a better look but just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue. Thanks

Hmmm, I always use the ebrake and I can't believe I just noticed it. I got almost 5k miles now, I'm wondering if it just got loose over time.

I havent notice the ebrake being able to wiggle but the chrome part on my ebrake actually came loose. There's a small screw on the bottom that came loose on me. Had to get it warrantied at the time. That small piece was $360+ had warranty not cover it.

This is very strange. Is it the entire assembly, or just the handle?

Customer dropped off a X yesterday and as I pulled it into the shop and yanked the ebrake the handle fell off.

Tightened the allen bolt on the underside of the handle and it's all good.

Sorry I guess that could have been read either way. I'm not referring to the actual handle piece its self that comes in aluminum on the MR's. I'm talking about the entire assembly of the ebrake. When its all the way down I can grab it and shake the whole thing.

Depending on how many notches you pull the lever you could have stretched the ebrake cable which would allow slop. If you read the manual (not saying you haven't) it states you should never pull the lever more than 5 notches.

So pulled it all apart and its definitely a rivet

Wiggle one way

Wiggle the other

I only got up three clicks. There is a nut that you can turn to adjust the tension. I tried that but it didn't solve the issue. When there is full tension you don't really notice it, its only when I have it down that you get the wiggle.

Wow.

My bad. That's definitely way more than a simple allen in a handle.

Best of luck with it.
