Just enjoy your RA for awhile longer. It doesn't make any sense to be upside down on payments just because you "have to have it". I drove my RSX type S for 7 years, hated it for the last 2 I owned it. It was payed for and I kept the miles low (52k) and I got a sweet deal. 10k for trade + 5500 down and 0% financing. My payments were 350. Than I got the wheel and tire package which bumped it to 370.

yea i have to agree your already upside down you need to recover from that first before you swap cars. As for your comment on the accleration. it seem pretty nasty to me i will admit it was smooth how the power hit but not horrible by any means. If JMS ever post the vid(me holding camera) you will see how nasty this RA was. Beat 3 stangs as well same day and they were juiced.

Realistically, your warranty is void on an Evo the day you take delivery. I went in for the issues with staples coming out of the seats, and had to undergo a 30 minute "inspection" where they photographed the inside and outside of the car from all angles and examined the tires for signs of driving the car hard.
Then, they have to upload those pictures to Mitsubishi. If they give the OK, only then can you get warranty work. If something serious failed, there's no way they'd cover it. I suppose dealerships vary, but that seems to be the general consensus.
If it were me, I'd get started modifying the RA. It wouldn't take much to get Evo-level speed out of it. A huge first step would be decent-sized wheels and tires, and that wouldn't even void your warranty.

$25,000 down, traded in wifes 05 Cavalier, got $7000 on trade in but she owed $8500 so we lost on her car. I pay $350 and month for 60 months. I have a GSR SSS, and I was the first one to buy one from the dealership when they first came out so I ended paying more than most. I got home from Iraq and bought the car a week later.

I am at $599 a month 60 month loan 4.2 APR. Only put down equity in my trade-in of $1700. It also depends a lot on the price u get the car for. The 3k down and $600 per month seems high to me. What is the purshase price of the car? MRSP or something. At invoice price and $3000 grand down invoice u should be looking at $550 or so a month.

I pay like 550 or something. But I didn't put hardly anything down. Traded in one car but only made like 4k on it.
