Fun Road Resource

http://www.motorcycleroads.us/

I posted this link on another thread but it deserves its own thread. Now that the weather's turned nice, it's time to take on some challenging roads. I live in Va and have found some great rides in the mountains of Va, NC and W.Va. from this site.

I have loved taking a day or two to travel to the hills and hit the twisties, going through the tight sections repeatedly. If you have any fav roads, post em up. My favorite East Coast road has gotta be RT 129,Tail of the Dragon in TN. Last summer I drove 9 hrs from home to spend a day there. That's how I experienced just what an amazing real sportscar(sedan) the Evo X is.

Oooh, nice. I was just Googling for good roads. Can't wait to get back to VA, since driving in NJ is such a nightmare.

Just submitted a few roads. The ones they had listed for VA were lacking in my opinion.

Pungo is out in BFE though rt 17 isn't bad. US60 between Buena Vista and Amherst is really fun though.

head down to deals gap on the NC/TN border one weekend (you are going to have to make it a weekend trip). We used to make semi-annual trips there to ride bikes when i lived in raleigh, NC. it was about a 5-6 hour trip for me.

I see a couple of you guys are in Hampton Roads too. I'm on the Peninsula and my best local drive is RT 721/14 out of West Point. Some nice sweeping turns and a couple tight sections. Police like this road however. If you follow this up thru Caroline Co, there's some very fun County rds that wind around near that big Military base and Bowling Green. Best twisties I've found that aren't in the hills.

The County Rds. in Isle of Wight, east of Suffolk are fun to get lost on. They follow some odd farm property lines so they have some sneaky turns.
