Is there any update on a hid fix for GSR.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is a fix for the HID, drl problem? I have a 2008 Canadian Gsr. I install the hid on to the car. this is the Oem hid from mr. Any help would be great, thank you very much.

What do you mean HID drl problem? Do you not want your drl to be on? Are they not on? or do you want your HID to be your drl?

If you put MR headlights into a non SSS GSR you will need to disable the DRL's or the HID's will flicker then pop. There's not enough voltage when the DRL's are on to power the HID bulbs. If you do a search you'll find it, its not to complicated but a lot of people have done it with out problems.

I'm receiving my first batch of (8) DRL Bypass Relay Harnesses for 08-10 Lancers and Evo X's that I've been working on mass marketing. This harness will retain normal function of the HID's (not turn them on when switched to parking lights like the solution above). These will hopefully be for sale on evolutionm.net. Cost is going to be about $35 shipped for any member. I should have these available about the second week of June...please anyone let me know if they have any interest. Thanks!

Will this work if I just want to get rid of the DRLs? I don't have the HID's yet but would deff love to shut them off for now.

Absolutely, it can also be used to simply bypass DRL's with your factory halogen bulbs!

I am going to take the car to the dealership on Tuesday. they are hoping to overwrite the etacs, to force it on. If not they are going to put a new one on, and hope that they turn the feature on before they write my car Vin on it. I hope this works. everyone keep your fingers cross, if it works, we all share in the benefits. I am glad for the input.

Any updates? I'd prefer to do it via OEM software than an aftermarket wiring harness.

Supposedly you can take it to the dealership and ask them to disable the DRL since your turning it into a show car. That's what I've heard so take it with a grain of salt as I haven't tried it.
