Ha, yeah man, I bit the bullet. I've been out of the loop for awhile, but it's good to see you're still around. Let me know when you head up this way. Topspeed or Forged should be able to hook you up.

Congrats on your purchase. I personally like the rawness of the 9's but the 10's are sweet cars too!

Was that you I saw a few weekends ago on Wash Rd in front of Wal Mart? I'm sometimes out your way, and I was in my (former) white IX. If that was you, your car is hot.

an evo is a lancer, with ridiculously advanced AWD, cheap interior, 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, wide body, big brakes stiff suspension and a couple of recaros. thats it, any lancer, from any year that meets these requirements is a worthy evo.

I had a 6, and I can say that the 8-9 is a soft car and that a proper evo is the 5-6, RAW as they come. You know what, im going to start picking on evo's 8-9 just because my 6 was more of an evo (according to me...and who the hell am I to lecture anybody on what is a "real" evo)

sorry for the rant, i have read a lot of evo 8-9 posts against the x today, and it just doesnt make sense, and also sorry if i highjacked the thread a little.

Congrats!

I've had my VIII for 6 years, and I'm playing with the idea of upgrading to an X later this year.

The Columbian guy who joked about the VI being more raw than the VIII/IX has it right. We Americans don't have perspective on the Evos. I have a car-guy friend in Europe that says every time a new Evo comes out, the faithful gnash their teeth and wail about how the new car is too heavy and soft compared to the old car. Even though the new car is invariably faster around a road course than the old car...

They're ALL awesome cars. Don't know why the ''haterz have to hate'', but that's just the way it is.
