change tires. nothing wrong with the X steering. Besides the Elise and the 911 is a mid engine or rear engine car . there is no weight on the front wheel as much as the front engine cars.
You looking something you will not get. If you need that feeling , then you are in the wrong car.
Leave the steering alone, no need improvement there.
The feel you can change with many thing . Tires - coilovers - alignment etc. Also since you are describing something different, the steering quickener will not help in your situation. Also i do not recommend that one for DD. To feel a road is comes from tires and suspension set up mainly, not from the steering assembly. You just grabbing the receiving side....

Why are RTAB bushings not a popular change for the EVO? It makes a huge difference in slop reduction in STI land. They are soft rubber no?

I love the IX but its not so different its worth switching. Most IX owners will try to convince you otherwise of course. I was going to buy a IX up until the day I bought the X. Drove them all. The only car in the running that was significantly different was the Hawkeye GD STi. It handled like poop on a stick.

I've driven both. Love them equally. The X is stiffer overall and its noticeable.

Just havent seen as many turbo kits for the X as for the IX. Seems like the R&D is slowing down.

There is a ton of support already and the FP Black is just being explored now no? Only Buschur is walking away for development. Good riddance.

Well ya i agree on the FP Black. Buschur pretty much dropped the X for say lack of potential/market?

I think you may be referring to something different than I was asking; I rewrote the original post hopefully to be more clear and avoid confusion. I was only referring to the vibrational road feedback characteristic of the steering. Basically, make the X feel like a IX. I'm not referring to the weight or attitude of the wheel in corners. With the solid front bearings, the PSRS, and the solid rear camber links, as well as my alignment and everything else I've done, I think the X feels much better. Then again, really, it's subjective; it's more to my preference, so I can't say what is "right" or "wrong" with the steering beyond what I personally prefer.
I'm sure coilovers and tires would make a difference as well, no doubt, but I decided to replace a few other things before I go to coilovers.

I've already found an informative and satisfying solution, as it's been clarified in later posts, so I guess it's just an open discussion now :P

From having talked to a handful of Subaru people, the difference in Subarus with this upgrade probably feels bigger than the difference is in Evo's, but having done this change in my X, I can say personally that there is still a noticeable difference with the X.

So you really want more steering kickback? Maybe for a track only car but for a daily driver I have no idea why you would want that at all.

The STi steering is terrible so you are really going to notice any sort of improvement. EVO steering is very good stock so improvements are going to be very subtle.
