Thinking about taking the plunge

Hey guys,

Been here a while, about 4-5 years. Looking and learning. I am now looking into getting an X as my DD. I am 22 now. I am debating about though whether or not I should wait another year and save up some more since I would have to finance a good chunk of it. I would be traveling back and forth to work with it. Its about a 20 min drive to work about 20 miles. I am south of Boston next to Brockton in MA. I was wondering what good tuners and mechanics are in the area that I could take it too. Along with any other suggestions or things I should take into consideration. About the purchase. Thanks guys.

Yeah I would be financing about 20K for it. I am going to be talking to my bank about it soon and see what they offer me. I was thinking about doing over 5 years. I am selling my 2002 eclipse as the down payment. How do you like it as a DD?

IMO. If your planing to finance your vehicle, consider your budget. Save up for another year if you have to. You wanna be well, rather then suffering from car payments for the next couple years. Extra money always help if your planing on tuning

Very true. I have been wanting to get an EVO for quite awhile lol. Another year might be a good idea. I am not planning on modding for awhile if I do it would just be small things like a filter and gauges. I am going to make out a little sheet in excel and consider all my finance expenses.

I dropped 20k on mine up front and financing the rest over three years. Remember to let your insurance know about the window etchings. Every little bit helps!

I just graduated with my BS in engineering. I got a good paying job as a nuclear sales engineer in the control valve industry. I am going to do it all out to make sure I have enough aside for the college loans I have to pay back also.

Yeah, I got mine at 0% APR. Feels good seeing that payment go down every month!

I promise you may be sad to see her go, but happy to see her leave.

Dollar for dollar you cant beat the Evo X in my opinion. Responds to mods like no other car out there. simple bolt ons and a tune and i've gained 100 hp at the wheels!

I am probably not going to be getting it from a dealer new. I will prob get a '08 X used. Then I would finance through my credit union.
