I know i always wonder myself why these fastfood and some gas stations dont check I.Ds..I work in a restaurant and its first priority to verify before transaction.

I feel sorry for the original poster... but the quoted post is very true. Don't leave valuables... especially your wallet in your car.

I never knew broken glass doesn't trigger the alarm. Thank you for the tip, and sorry about what happened to you.

shoot, i didn't even know stock X had factory alarm...i don't remember reading it in the manual. i assumed the red blinking light on the dash was just a fake deterrent. so the horn sounds when doors are opened without unlocking? like if i lock the doors with the window down...then reach in and pull the handle, the horn sounds? i remember trying that and nothing happened.

also, after market alarms...will they mess with fastkey?

The alarm does work, it does take like 20-30 seconds to arm(when that light starts to blink), the manual talks about it.

It only covers someone opening the doors, hood and maybe trunk.

I do wonder if you can easily add a glass sensor or something similar to the stock alarm, because i'm sure a lot of people would like to retain their fastkey access.

I'm pretty sure with visa and mastercards, the contract is that merchants dont ask for ID. The signature is the ID.

This. You asked for it.

In Slovenia if a police officer sees a wallet/purse/mobile phone/valuable thing in an open place in the car, they can write you a ticket for it.

Opportunity is what makes a thief.

Thats a great law. I wish we had that law in the US. Maybe being from NYC makes me more cautious but If I leave my wallet in my car EVER, I dont expect to get it back.
