Is isn't my car ..... just spotted it today ........ I'll give you a clue ...... and I am not saying it is the cause, but it looks like it missed a recall!

 

I'm told that the fire started small, but because the owner tried to save weight by getting rid of the extinguisher .... they had to watch it burn!!!

I was looking at that, but I thought that was the revised fuel rail... Going to have to go out and look at mine now.

Just checked, and that does appear to be the post-recall fuel rail.

Vents and rear view mirror trim are aftermarket (CF). The window trim comes from the option listed as "Stylish Exterior Package".

So what was the actual cause of this?

 

The fuel rail is the stock one, the only thing that I see it that thing sticking out of it in the middle. What is that, that looks like something was put there like a FP guage.

 

It's the fuel hose that broke.

Recall should have been done.

^Fuel Return Line for 08's. Don't worry, yours is already updated as you have a 2010 model. I've been putting this off for far too long. Now that I see the evidence and the carnage it creates, I need to get this done asap.

 

so... insurance covering it?

 

if its a factory recall then I think that mitsu has to cover it not personal insurance

 

there is no "MR" out side of the us.... LOL
