does anyone have more info on the driving conditions that caused these fires?

I've done all the recalls and I still have raw fuel smell in my cabin when the weather is really hot outside (>100 degrees F)

I had been putting off my recalls, and just made an appointment after seeing this thread. I don't know if the car in the OP burned because of the fuel line recall as people have said it had the updated bracket, but some of the other ones posted did. Mine gets fixed Friday.

I dont think its the fuel line recall, form the picture that I circled there is something that looks welded on the fuel rail. Im thinking they put a gauge or something on it, this was not caused by the recall that I can see.

Nobody's blamed it on the fuel line recall for at least 3 days. You're a little late.

He feels glad that he got the fuel line recall done so that his car doesn't burn like in post #1

That welded thing to the stock fuel rail looks stupid... if you're going that far, why not get an aftermarket fuel rail that you can thread something onto it?

It looks like he had a carbon fiber spark plug cover???

I don't know if this was intentionally funny or not, but I certainly laughed.

I Golden's Fuel Sprinkler theory posted earlier, you know, to help burn the engine down. Sounds like a Photoshop job waiting to happen.

so when are we going to get a serious answer instead of all this poking around?

is it for sure that the car had been modified and got something welded on it? and thats why it caught fire? does anybody really know how and why this happened?

Probably never. The OP thought it was because of the missed fuel line recall, and he's the only one who has any idea where the car came from. Since that's not the case, it's anyone's guess.
