I've had the car for over a year and I still can't believe how much I still enjoy it. I have zero regrets with regards to my X and the vendor support makes it a perpetual project.

I've had mine for 15 months and 15K miles. Very happy with it and haven't had any issues other than the usual...paint chips, rattles, notchy transmission....but I expected all of that. I drive it every day, do autox, and a few track days. Definitely no regrets with the purchase. I have owned several Mitsus and have always been very happy with the reliability - hopefully that will remain true with the X as well.

I've had my MR since may of 08 and now have 52k on her. This is the first evo ive been happy with. there were always little things that bugged me about my VIII and IX, but this one is the complete package for me. (though the rattles suck pretty bad)

I just recently got rid of my 08 GSR. I had it for almost 2 years and was pretty damn sick of it. From the notchy transmission, to the recalls, to the terrible mitsubishi service, to the aero kit falling apart, to the thousand interior rattles, to the crummy navigation, to the terrible gas mileage, to the cheap feeling interior, i was happy to get rid of it.

I definitely miss the power and great handling, though, I'll give it that...

2 years, 19k miles and it's been a great time even during winter . i did get use to the stock power quickly and i didn't like the ride height. with a few simple bolt ons, stage 1 (and now 2) cobb ots tune, and swift springs+rear sway+RCA kit, i was almost completely happy..lol see how the mod bug works. i couldn't just remove the wing, no no, i needed to the do-luck lid.

lol, ok now i'm relatively satisfied for now...

and with all that said, i've really enjoyed the forums/community too.

oh and i just read the post above mine. i dunno, either i got use to the notchy transmission or it "broke in". at 19k miles i don't have that problem really, i just need to drive it right and it's fine. it takes a bit more effort to drive this car compared to my previous car (integra)

i have an early 08 GSR . I m very happy with it.
I dont see any big issue with the X.
I would say it is just another Evo. Has the little problem's like any other Evo before had it, and perform just a same. /every generation had they own little problems , this is just comes with the evo's/
So you actually would buy a little bit more refined Evo with a usual little things , you may like to fix or just leave it.
Every generation was little bit more refined and performed very similar.
So the X is not different, keeps the tradition.

1.5 years and like it more now than when I bought it. Zero problems to date outside of the recalls for 08's and poor initial tune. The only thing I would change is the crappy Japanese paint to the same quality as German or even domestic.

What recalls? I've had 2 recalls total. The fuel pump relay and the front airbag sensors would erode so they had to be replaced. Gas mileage, it's a turbo sports car. I'm sure if someone just up and gave you a Gallardo you wouldn't go "no it gets bad gas mileage." Not trying to start a fight, but you get what you know it's for and you know it when you get it.

I love it. Looks awesome and feels awesome and now it sounds awesome. I would say it's the best car to mod in it's price range. It's very easy to make power and we have all the JDM bling available too. We take for granted just how much aftermarket support we have for this car.

Ok! I have only had my X about 3 months/ 2300 miles, and I am very happy with it! So far, no rattles, 3M'd the hood, bumber, mirrors, and the larger side skirts have taken care of the paint problems so far. 2nd gear is a little notchy untll once warmed up, then shifts fine. Not so long term yet on my car, but from early impressions the X is a much better put together car then what my 8 MR was.

what do you drive now?

i've owned a g35 and wrx...both had terrible notchy transmission's and major rattles. most ppl expect it going into these cars. i'm not sure there's a car out there in the evo's price range that'll match the performance and satisfy your luxury and mileage needs.

my brother's civic has everything what the evo is lacking...besides what the evo is made for. amazingly smooth tranny, great gas mileage, reliability, very nice interior and finish (for a honda). just nothing to go with it...no power, crazy body roll, etc...

To me, if you are not planning to mod the Evo X, then its not worth purchasing. I know a lot of people want to keep their warranty for good financial reasons. Looking back I probably could have gotten a much better deal with buying used.
