Stock Recaro - Loose Backrest + Noise
Stock Recaro - Loose Backrest + Noise
So After owning the evo x mr-t for a couple weeks now, I've noticed that when I go over stretches of rough road the back rest of the passenger side front seat seems to move/wobble frontwards and backwards while making a rattling type sound, this problem seems to have just come up and it's pretty damn annoying - it seems like there is a loose bolt somewhere maybe? Im wondering if this is normal for these seats or if anybody else has this issue and if there is anything that can be done? Might be a good excuse to opt for some Bride seats which i keep reading everybody raving about on here, but Id like to not have to go aftermarket if I don't have to...thx guys.
-I know the seats aren't that well made to begin with since nearly everybody seems to have be having the exposed staple issue...

Did you ever get this fixed? Mine is doing the same thing.
The bolts that attach the seat to the floor are all tight. However I am planning to take the seat out to tighten the bolts on the under side of the seat.
Does anybody know how to take the backrest angle adjuster knob off?

I am happy to say that I found the solution to this. It is really easy to fix!!!
On the outside of the seat, below the knob to adjust the backrest, there is a visible t-50 bolt. You may need to pull the material down a bit, but it is just held in place with Velcro.
Remove the bolt. Inside the hole there will be a plastic spacer. Take it out by pinching carefully and pulling. Put the plastic spacer back onto the bolt and then wrap the plastic spacer with about 2 rounds of electrical tape. The idea is just to take up some slack in the hole in the bottom cushion bracket.
Put the bolt back in and tighten. The noise is gone!
