foot technique

Hello fellow X owners. I was wondering if any1 can comment on how they start this vehicle from a stop. I do the gas down and clutch up technique, but it seems that because of the higher engagement I hear the revs longer than I would like. If I do it any faster the car starts to bog. Now I haven't stalled it yet, but would like to refine my technique. Do you find yourself lifting up the clutch a little before taking your foot off the brake or do you just remove your foot off the brake and then give it some gas as the clutch comes up? Also is the gas pedal supposed to be this light? When I gently tap it, I'm already at 1500rpm. What is the trick to this high engagement point?

Practice, practice, practice! Coming from an acura that had a low engagement, it took awhile to get used to it. Practice getting a feel for the clutch by letting it out slow, until you feel the "bite". You might stall a few times, but it helps you to learn the clutch take-up and throttle in point.

I don't really see how people are having such a hard time trying to drive this car, especially with the stock clutch. It is very simple.

HEEL-TOE SHIFTING

A racing technique used during downshifting. Driver's right foot brake with the ball while simultaneously tapping the clutch as the throttle is engaged with the heel. It remains an elite force within the band and match engine RPM to shift gears quickly allows cleaner to transmission speed.

seriously, im shocked at how many threads i see asking for help how to drive stick in these cars. it kinda scares me to know there are that many inexperienced drivers behind the wheel of a semi-powerful car. never have i been on other vehicle forums and seen threads like this.

dude just sit further back for a week. You will notice the clutch engages a little quicker & will learn how to catch the car quicker while slowly letting out the clutch and giving throttle. Once you are ok with that, move the seat in a little till you can actually hold your left arm on the door rest and grip the wheel firmly. You will notice your left leg still engages slowly like you did before. Just give it some throttle and you are good.

and when you are use to the stock clutch, you'll probably have to replace it with a stage 1 or 2... THEN you'll really be *****ing..

maybe the economy is picking up more people starting to invest in this car. unfortunately a hydro & high clutch don't play well with people who came off low engaging cable controlled beaters. idk just my 2 cents

i have no problems at all switching from one car to the next at work. its not a hard concept to grab at all. sure the first clutch release is always a learning curve but still not hard. my last car was a 650rwhp mustang with a cable race style clutch.
