Lol that just made me laugh when I think of people spending money on carbonfiber hoods (ours already weight nothing) and then placing lets say a 5lb weight in the glove box to stop the rattle.

Mine was ratteling where the drivers side A-pillar meets the dash panel. I cut some felt pad and stuffed it inbeteen the gap, so far I think it's working.

i fixed this rattle on my '09 gts and plan on doing it with my '10 x mr. there are 4 points of contact that the glovebox can possibly squeak from. two on the top sides (the wings you can press in) and two on the bottom where it pivots. line them with very thin felt and you have stopped rattles forever . not sure why mitsu didn't even go this route from the factory as it's insanely cheap and stops rattles very easily. plastic on plastic = rattle.

Mine got so bad it sounded like a styrofoam cooler was under the dash. I put some small velcro pieces on the 2 contact "nubs" on the inside of the glovebox door. That easily fixed mine.

Turn up the stereo. Mine always go away when I do that.

Otherwise, I'm hitting the dash or the glove box to make it stop.

I turn up the stereo too or if not in the mood for tunes, keep the glove box open sometimes, seems to solve the rattle issue too lol.

The squeak you're hearing is pretty common on our cars. It's somewhat intermittent, though, and by opening/closing your glovebox, it sometimes goes away. When it gets real bad, i just open the glovebox and drive around with the glovebox open.

Lancerarmstrong would do us all a favor by posting pics of the glovebox with the felt installed, so that we can see which points to install the felt on. I tried this route before, but i guess i did not apply felt at the proper places, as it kept squeaking.
