Just blast it with water aiming slightly downward.. It doesnt get everything off, but majority of it. By the way, this is using the "finger" to blast.. haha

Well yeah you can't leave the stream on one spot for any length of time, a nice sweeping motion does the trick.

if it is real dirty/ugly......

use "air conditioning unit" coil cleaner , then hose off.

the coil cleaner will definitely not harm the fins or tubes of the IC.

If the moths are really big and you dont want to hose them deeper into the intercooler try the following.

Jack the front of you're car up.

Undo all of the clips along the front of the undertray.

Using needle nose pliers bend you're arm up through the gap and pull them out gentle.

Hose of the little bits that are left.

I used a coin-op pressure washer with good results. It is tough to get every spot on the IC due to the mesh and plastics in front of it, but you can cover 80% or so.

Soaked 'em with the soapy spray, then blasted them with rinse.
Finished with "spot-free rinse" too!
Fins are fine.

I would think one of those little air cans with the straw on it to clean keyboards would do the trick pretty well, that way you dont have to remove anything, you can just stick the straw through the grille.
